Right before the entire world changed in March, my brother Jackson and his girlfriend Riley came up from Texas to visit us for the first time. We booked the coziest little cabin on Airbnb in Maple Falls and had a stay-cation on the river. As we all piled up & drove out to the mountains (of course, picking up the most amazing pizza from Northfork Brewery on our way), it felt like we were in an apocalyptic movie… just four kids escaping to a quaint cabin for some sense of normalcy. Although we had no idea what the world ahead had in store, we lived that last little normal outing to the fullest with some trips down to the river, amazing late-night cookies, and a very competitive game of Sorry from a stack of old board games that were left in the cabin.
